Facebook Marketplace sells to people nearby, often picked up and paid for in person with no fee. Poshmark ships across the country on a prepaid label the buyer pays for, to shoppers looking for brand-name clothing, shoes and bags. A coat or a handbag can go to whichever buyer comes first.

• On Facebook Marketplace: Facebook Marketplace has no listing API, so VendorSnap lists there from the phone app through your own Facebook sign-in, and once you record the sale, your phone marks the Facebook listing sold for you.
• On Poshmark: VendorSnap fills in Poshmark's own listing form on your phone, through your own Poshmark sign-in, with Poshmark's own category, condition, brand, size, colours and style tags, and lists it. When the item sells somewhere else and you record the sale, your phone deletes the Poshmark listing for you.

Fees

Facebook takes nothing on local pickup paid in person, and 10% on shipped orders with a $0.80 minimum. Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 under $15 and 20% from $15 up, and the buyer pays the shipping. The fee comparison lines both up against eBay, Etsy, Vinted and Depop.
