Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information VendorSnap collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. VendorSnap is operated by JB Purcell, doing business as VendorSnap.

1. Information we collect

We collect:

• Account credentials — name, email, and password (managed via Firebase Authentication).
• Vendor profile details — display name, booth number, sales tax rate, and mall affiliation.
• Payment identifiers — Venmo and Zelle handles you choose to display.
• Item metadata — title, description, price, category, condition, and photos.
• Camera frames — images you submit to Google Gemini for AI analysis.
• Transaction records — line items, subtotal, tax, total, payment method, and timestamp. We do not store customer identity.
• Device and app diagnostics — collected through Firebase.
• Aggregate usage analytics — via Google Analytics for Firebase (device model, OS version, app version, language, coarse region, and a Firebase identifier).

We do not collect card numbers, precise location, contacts, calendar data, or microphone input.

2. How we use it

We use your data to authenticate you, operate the App's features, synchronize your data across devices, generate QR price tags, provide AI item identification and price research, detect fraud, and send transactional emails. We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party ads.

3. Third parties we share with

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy. Your name, email, and payment handles are not transmitted to these services.

4. Storage and security

Data resides on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States, encrypted with TLS in transit. Firebase manages password hashing; we never see raw passwords. We will notify affected users of a data breach as required by law.

5. Data retention

Your account data, item listings with photos, and transaction records remain available while your account is active. Deleting your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account removes your items, photos, profile, and transaction records within 30 days, with encrypted backups retained for up to 90 days. Mall operators retain independent copies of transactions they process.

6. Mall operator data sharing

When you enter a mall's six-character join code, that operator receives access to your display name, booth number, listed items, operator-processed items, the resulting transactions (line items, prices, totals, payment method, commission), your overall sales totals, and item-availability counts. The operator cannot see your Venmo/Zelle handles, email, password, or sales you process directly. You can review commission rates in Settings → Mall. Outside this scenario, data sharing is limited to the providers in Section 3 and to compliance with legal process.

7. Your rights

You may access your data through the App, correct your profile and item details in-app, delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account, and withdraw camera/photo permissions through your phone settings. California residents have CCPA rights; users in the EU, UK, and similar jurisdictions have GDPR-style rights including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For rights requests that cannot be completed in-app, email support@vendorsnap.app.

8. Children

VendorSnap is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email support@vendorsnap.app and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will announce them in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
